1964 Rosemary’s wedding dress

Rosemary recalls wanting a dress like the one worn by Princess Margaret, and after much searching and rejection, she went to a bridal shop in Lewisham, South East London.
The sales lady was rather pushy, and because Margaret’s mother was loosing patience with her daughter, Rosemary was told she would definitely purchase the dress in that shop!
So being a dutiful daughter, she did so.
On the wedding day, Alan arrived at his brother’s (also his best man) with no socks and no braces to hold his trousers up, so he had to borrow some!
Late that evening, Alan remembered he had not collected their joint passport from the vicar (who had to keep it until they were married).
As they were leaving in the early hours of the next morning for their honeymoon in Ibiza, he had to get the vicar out of bed to collect it!!
